Youth Rise International (YoRI) engages survivors, survivor-leaders and people with lived experience of extreme poverty, economic deprivation, marginalization and health discrimination lead our mission to understand individuals, families and local communities. We come with the attitude of love, compassion and mercy in our heart to seek, listen and empathy with them. We live in their spaces, build quality relationships and connect with them on a personal, religious, emotional and financial levels through an ethnographic approach
Youth Rise International (YoRI) ensures that we leverages on our learnings to describe and analyses the vulnerable situation of these individuals, families and local communities deeply in order to identify trends, patterns, roots causes, intersections and layers of extreme poverty and social exclusion. For comprehensive illumination, we employ development communication tools such as problem-tree analysis, solution-free analysis and income-wasters analysis. These tools helps to collectively and comprehensively diagnose the multi-dimensional nature of extreme poverty and social exclusion in order to prognose the most economical, effective and sustainable solutions.
Youth Rise International (YoRI) ensures that the outcome of the illumination stage culminates into mobilizing very poor, vulnerable and marginalized individuals, families and local communities to co-design and co-create sustainable, inclusive and gender-sensitized pro-poor and social protection interventions and build youth-led and grassroots-driven social movement to implement them. This approach is special and unique because, no one individual or organization can fight and address extreme poverty and social exclusion alone but rather it will take collective and collaborative efforts. Also, our approach is special because, thoughts who live in and are affected by extreme poverty and social exclusion are at the forefront of breaking the vicious cycle of extreme poverty and transforming their own lives, that of their families and local community; which makes it more sustainable.
Youth Rise International (YoRI) is guided by its “One Model” to co-create individual, family and community specific Shared Prosperity Strategic Plan with clearly divine timelines and milestones so they can follow a clear-cut trajectory towards rising out of extreme poverty and become prosperous. To achieve this, we are further guided by our Biblically Empowered Worldview Model to strengthening their faith, transferring functional knowledge to them, equipping them with life-skills such as life-coaching, career mentoring, adult literacy, health education, climate change mitigation and adaptation awareness, effective parenting and venture capital or entrepreneurship development.
